Shimano and Avet reels for sale

So Its a wet windy day up here in the far North and I sorted through my reel collection. I have decided to sell these 3 reels which don't seem to get much use. Thought I would offer them up here before whacking them on Trademe. 1: Shimano Stradic FI 5000, spooled with Tasline 20lb, plus two extra sp...

Re: ASSASSIN COMPOSITES UTE BOX for Ocean Kayak for sale

Sorry Mate,
I just desperately wanted this thing. Perhaps someone with the skills will see this and consider manufacturing these things. I couldn't even find anything similar in the US where there are a heck of a lot of old town ad Ocean kayaks floating around.

Re: Bixpy

I currently have the unit mounted on a predator 13. When traveling I paddle as well as run the bixby, I usually run on 1/2 speed, the 5 setting gives me about 6km per hr. I use the bixby frequently through the day on the 1 to 3 speed to hold position while fishing. I only use the top speed on the wa...

Re: Bixpy

I've been using a Bixby for almost 12 months. fishing 2 to 4 times per month. trips would usually be 6 to 8 hours on the water. So far no real issues with the unit. However I did recently experience a slight issue where the motor would not select reverse, all the reverse speeds had turned into forwa...

Re: Anyone fished in Rarotonga?

If you want to fish out of Raro there are lots of good choices. 2 I know about are George on Akura Charters or Diane and Junior on Marlin Queen, I think they are running 3 boats now so they can give you choices depending on the number of anglers.

Re: Is a sub-$500 set-up worth it or save a bit more?

The Navionics charts for iPhone is brilliant. Great detail on the chart its better than the marine blue chart for my Garmin that I paid $160 odd dollars for.

Tracport on a Viking tacklepod

Hi, Just wondering what others have done to mount a Tracport 350 on a Viking tacklepod. The options as I see it are to. 1: bolt the Tracport directly onto the top of the tacklepod, possibly need to shorten the length of the Tracport to minimise overhang which could interfere with the foot pedals on ...

Cape KariKari

Hi Guys,
Lots of Snapper are to congregating over the Mid to deep foul off Cape Karikari. This was a trip mid week 2 hours on the water. 4 0f these fish were 6.5 to 7.5kg. Released a few around 2-3kg. They were hitting the slow jigs often in midwater. They were super fat and feeding aggressively.
