Re: Prowler Ultra 4.3

Hey murf, yeah that was me. Was a great trip! Last time I was out for anything more than a short paddle. Health packed up a couple of months after that, having more tests this week. Good to hear from ya, hope your health picks up and thanks again for the loan of your kayak :)

Prowler Ultra 4.3

Hey guys, unfortunately my health has been really crap the last couple of years and isn't showing any signs of improving so I have to sell my beloved Prowler. I thought I would try on here before paying trademe's ridiculous fees.. Comes with rudder, icebox, running rig, fibreglass paddle and leash, ...

Kayak Hire

Hey folks, wondering if anyone can help us out... We're heading over with a group to paddle/walk Abel Tasman 30 dec - 5 jan. The kayak hire places are being lame about kayak hire (won't let us take a kayak up to Totaranui). I'm bringing my 4.3 over but we need one more kayak for that period. Any ide...

Re: Castlepoint?

Hey guys, long time coming - thanks for the advice! Struck it lucky and managed to get out for a couple of paddles. Headed out from the rock along the reef line but the swell was coming from 3 directions which I really didn't love, so I paddled north. Parked up on sand in a wash line and let the gur...

Re: Competition Plagiarism

There's a few of us meet up from time to time but on the whole trying to organise anything down here is hard work. Someone tries from time to time and typically gives up pretty quick. You're welcome to have a go, I'm happy to support in anyway I can :y:

Re: This weekend/Help a Nakian out

I popped out Lyall Bay yesterday, tried a new approach. Perfect conditions! Heaps of small blue cod, few legal. Kahawai running up and down bay all day, heaps of bird life. Was hoping I positioned myself to pick up some Teri but apparenty not... Just nice to be on the water again for first time in a...

Re: This weekend/Help a Nakian out

I would definitely recommend Makara over Pukerua Bay at this time of year. Pukerua Bay you'll get cuda and sharks (had 6 species in one trip this time last year). Not much else resides there over winter so you're relying on getting lucky... Makara will give you blue cod and teri. The current move ve...

I'm probably going to head out south coast tomorrow afternoon for a few hours, assuming the wind holds up. Let me know if keen.

Re: Anybody ventured out lately?

Nice haul Hunt&gather!! I haven't been on the water for a couple of months. Need to change that, the freezer is empty :( I've become quite flexible on days so if anyone wants a buddy west or south coast over the next couple of weeks, assuming we get a few settled days some time, get in touch. Cheers...

Long time, no kayak..

I've just realised I haven't been out on my kayak for about a month now :( Instead, I've been training for a 100km walk (nonstop). My flatmates and I have a team in the oxfam trailwalker which is happening this weekend up around Taupo. Basically the 4 of us (along with 299 other teams of 4) head off...

Re: Sunday morning fish

Not a bad haul! I didn't take anchor/berley/bait that trip at makara, will park up next time now that I've got some places to head to, or I might explore south next time.. I'm hanging out to see Dolphins on my yak.. Saw some in Lyall Bay last weekend in closer than the breakwater by the airport. Ple...

Re: East Cape Comp

Taranaki was awesome!! I'm going to skip East Cape this year and try the local comps for some cheaper practice. Would rather spend my coin on rods and reels than travel/accomodation at the moment and go all out next year with the comps. Would be keen to team up later in the year when I'm a bit bette...

Re: Sunday morning fish

Headed out with fishabenny Sunday morning. Beautiful conditions, had a good explore around. We were out for 6 hours and covered over 21km. Spent most of the time paddling but came back with a nice pile of gps co-ords. Picked up a couple of nice fish and have a new fav lure, orange jitterbug! I'm ver...
