Re: NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

I have just had a message back from Navionics They have updated their charts, and I was able to update my MSD card for my chartplotter tonight. My chartplotter Micro SD card now aligns with the web and mobile apps (which have all been updated by NAVIONICS). Time to go diving and fishing :) Happy cha...

Re: NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

I have a Navionics Gold. I literally sent a picture of my SD and MSD card to NAVIONICS. Apparently Gold should be update able. So am waiting for NAVIONICS to get back to me with the fixes - RE: misalignment between downloadable charts for your card with charts on web and phone charts. I can't commen...

Re: NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

For those interested. After a few cups of coffee, extensive use of snipping tool, screenshots and photos to get my email nice and solutions focused. I received the following response from NAVIONICS. Dear Robert, Thank you for the information. I have verified that the Viewer inside the Chart Installe...

Re: NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

Its an SD/Micro SD 2GB card purchased new with the unit in 2015. Card requirements for the update were that it was to be 2GB or larger. This is the first update I have done since purchasing. As part of the update process, you open Chart Installer, insert your card, it takes you through selecting you...

Re: NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

Well, so far I have paid $180 to update my SD/MSD card for my Lowrance Elite-4 HDI with NAVIONICS Freshest Data from here https://www.navionics.com/usa/update-your-chart under "get up to date charts online". 'Apparently' this downloads and updates the latest maps onto your card... So I paid for it a...

NAVIONICS Chart Updates - Help Needed

I'm running a Lowrance Elite-4 HDI with NAVIONICS charts.

I see that NAVIONICS has updated their charts.

I'm keen to buy the updated charts from online so I can load onto my SD/MSD card.

Has anyone been through this general process whom might have a few pointers?

Thanks

Re: Wellington Kayak Fishing Club 2017 edition

Well I'll start by saying, I'd be keen to be a part of it. Due to commitments, I can only operate at an ideas generating/participation level. Below are a couple of brain dumped ideas for others to see and critique. Maby quarterly catchups (less becomes too infrequent?, more becomes too much burden?)...

Re: Viking or Ocean Kayak?

Hainesy sums it up really well This is my two cents I have a prowler ultra 4.3. I fish at anchor, spearfish, livebait, and troll a repala and ky lure behind when heading to the destination. If i could improve it I would: 1. Add a tackle pod (solved by a ute box if you are lucky enough to get one. Th...

Re: Wheeleez Kayak Trolley

Thanks Janet Mixed reviews on Sandtrakz, and lack of clarity about which surfaces it did and didn't work on just left me confused regarding suitability on the soft soft stoney beaches down here in Wellington. Based on the good reviews I've read on the Wheeleez, it was a no brainer. It was a little p...

I've just upgraded to Wheeleez, hopefully will arrive soon

Given that I have been using a C-Tug. Whats the consensus, keep the C-Tug or sell it?

What have others done in this situation?

Re: Spearfishing from the kayak?

If I was starting again, I would probably work out things in this order. 1. Decide if it is a love for the long term (helps to determine whether to buy good gear from the get go or not) 2. Find dive buddies, preferably ones with a bit of experience, but anyone you can trust to keep a reasonable eye ...

Re: Is there an issue?

I'm nearly in the same boat (mind the pun  ) Not a carport, but an open deck area at back of house. Tied to ceiling. Same thing basically. Lock through the scuppers and into the ceiling. About all you can do. I imagine in your situation your wondering if there is some lowlife out their planning...

8 hrs, and no one has mentioned this: http://www.kayakfishingnz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3606" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Ah bugger, that sucks! Re: Kayak storage shed

Right. I've just come up with a solution for mine since shifting a couple of months ago.

Its a pulley system, with a bike lock through the scupper.

The option was to build a small shed in back yard or this. A trip to Mitre 10 and its all set up now :y:

I've been using an Okuma Komodo for about 18 months now. Love it! Have used it on Snapper and Trevs to Gurnard and Blue Cod. Personally I've found it to have plenty of drag for big trevs and snapper. Yet light weight and small enough to be a pleasure to use on the Kayak. Regular services will hopefu...
