Re: Paddling vs motoring

Fill it up with water on your driveway. The leak should show up pretty easily.

Re: city mission fun fish

I usually launch to the left hand side of the beach where it gets sandy. You can launch from the river but it gets too shallow an hour or 2 either side of high tide

Re: Personal reccomendation

Hobie tandem island. I love taking my children out and feel comfortable doing so as the stability is as good as it gets. I've just started using the sail so that opens up a whole new experience. She's a beast off the water though and expensive.

Yeah, i didn't see your post until i got back. I stayed in Coro but did drive up to Papa Aroha. I saw a kayak but didn't see anyone around at the time. Fishing for me was ok but not great.

Re: homemade chilly bin

Looks good cabby. How thick is your poly? How thick was your ply? Have you tested how long ice lasts in it?

Re: homemade chilly bin

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if epoxy dissolved polystyrene. Obviously not. So about that toxic epoxy. I would have thought that once it was cured it would be ok for ice and fish?

homemade chilly bin

Hi

Just thinking out loud. Would a ply wood chilly bin work? Wood doesn't conduct heat very well so...maybe? Made from the thinnest ply. Maybe with polystyrene sandwiched between 2 layers? Fibre glassed joints. There isn't a factory option available so just thinking about options...

Thoughts?

Hey Destin, depending on timing, would you be opposed to a hobie tandem island tagging along on this trip?
