Re: Dehydrator

Nicely done. My experience was that it always needs a few more minutes soaking but maybe that's my bad cooking!

Thanks for the explanation Rob, totally understand the difficulties. Just sad to see it not work out - it was on my list since that Barrier trip :(

To be honest I use whatever cheapy I can find for a good price... then I don't feel so bad about the treatment they get in the kayak!

Room for rent in Sunnynook, Auckland

I have a spare single room going in Sunnynook, Auckland and it would be nice to have someone with similar interests about :) It's a 3bdrm house, with me and my two kids (4 & 6) half of the time. Big deck, space under the house for yaks and things. Not far from the motorway and plenty of North Shore ...

Powered RailBlaza StarPort

Just saw RailBlaza tweeting about one of their new products which looks like it could be pretty handy for those of us trying to run extra electronics, cameras, lights etc on the yak. The E Series 12VDC StarPort: http://www.railblaza.com/products/e-series-12vdc-starport/?portfolioID=2535" onclick="wi...

Who was that towing their kayak with a bike?

I was waiting on my bike at an intersection somewhere north of Devonport this afternoon and across the road goes a push bike towing a kayak. Wouldn't mind a look at how it all hooks together as it seems like a smart idea for short journeys. I didn't get much of a chance to see it but noted FF, rods ...

Yep, UNF which is pretty annoying to find here so talk to the suppliers or Rob etc. Otherwise they are great craft - except for that silly lid they ship with it :D

Love the video Lee, that fish is an epic. Can't say I recall much of your radio chatter as I was desperately hanging on to that kingfish while it gave me a quick tour of the Barrier. Will hit you up for some trips in summer :)

Bland Bay is right on 3 hours from the North Shore. Pretty much anything from the Whangarei harbour north will have something to check out though :)

Fished from the rocks up at Shakespeare park today, not a single bite. Couple of yakkers I asked said it was pretty slow too.
