It’s been a while since I’ve been out that way, but I found it was a pretty common occurrence... I even tried calling them up on the VHF on more than one occasion but never got a response...

I always find the BCF stores are good place to look around... the FCO stores that we used to have here in NZ were modelled on them... they’re all over the place .

Where bouts are you launching from?

Fishing across the top / bottom of the tides is the best and safest....

There is quite a few guys that launch from around Tinopai but just about all anchor up and use bait simply due to,the fact of the currents which are strong and the murkiness of,the water

Still got the 2 x fishing yaks, and now have a 5m centre console boat which is getting a fair amount of use on the Kaipara

Having used these myself, I’d recommend that if you’re surf launching, don’t put the non return scupper valves in until after you’ve cleared the surf... Reason being that if you take water over the front and the cockpit get water in it, the water can’t escape fast enough if The valves are fitted and...

I had a similar problem with my first centre console that I bought about 18 months ago... Rare / sought after kayak trailer for sale !

Not sure if many have seen this... These are awesome to rebuild as a kayak trailer as you can arrange them with a false floor inside to store rods, and depending on how you set up the front support, you can open them up with the kayak on the roof. They are rarer than rocking horse Pooh, or hens teet...
