Re: This forum - giving likes.

If I remember correctly this was looked at a while back and back then it was decided against ... however if you want, KFNZ also has a FB page where you can give as many “thumbs up” as you like

Re: Help struggling getting the Kayak to the water

Trust me when I say there is no amount of money you could spend on a kayak that still wouldn’t make it seem cheap compared to anything with a motor [emoji22] Haha...yep... definitely agree !... now owning a small centre console as well as 2x fully rigged fishing yaks, I only have to drive past a Bu...

Re: Fishing Kayak Newbie~ Is this a good fishing kayak?

Mmmm... this question comes up a lot.... so my response is along the lines of.... What support / back up will you get if something goes wrong ? Is it NZ made ? What’s the warranty.... 2-3-4 years vs some NZ Manufacturers that give essentially lifetime warranties on the hull There’s heaps of products...

Re: Remember

So after 7 long years of procrastinating and promising to visit the skin doctor I finally did it ! The suspect looking moles , some that were itchy turned out to be ok . Surprising for me was the fact they found one tiny pin prick of a spot basically in my armpit that never ever sees the sun that I...

Re: Fish finder set up fail????

Yep...almost definitely a power issue.... sometimes it’s not as simple as Andrew explained.. salt water exposure corrosion can sometimes creep up the cabling and everything can look fine at the joints and connections only for you the have a corrosion break further up the cable

Re: A cautionary tale

Another option that I’ve seen done, but haven’t done myself , is to turn around completely so you’re facing the breaking surf and to work your way onto shore backwards. If you get a large swell or wave you just paddle hard into it as you would when you launch and when’s it’s broken paddle backwards ...

Re: Time for a new PLB...

Just watched the video, I like the 360 aerial rotation but was wondering just how easy (too easy?) that guard slides off the big Red Button? What's your opinion? (Mine is due as well, must have been in the same rush :D ) I worked on the principle that it stays inside the neoprene bag that has a pla...

Time for a new PLB...

Well, faced with my PLB needing it’s 5 year battery renewal at a cost of $200, I decided to spend just over $300 and get a new unit, another brand, that has a 10 year warranty, a 20 year battery life and a 10 year recommended battery replacement cycle... A spare pouch so I can switch between my kaya...

Re: Marine Reserves

As tempting as it might seem to Fish close (and yes I’ve done it ) as HLD says I think it’s juts too much of a risk... I can recall once paddling thru a reserve with another Forum member with all our gear “up”and not fishing at all, when out of the blue we got a “ friendly” call from who we suspect ...
