Re: Damage when tying kayak on roof?

Before the trailer, or when travelling with multiple yak, flat roof racks and tie downs ...don’t use ratchets as you will dent the hull if you get it too tight

It can be accessed from the seat as Grant as suggested by just straddling the yak... ie a leg over each sid...

Covid 19 Level 3 Announcement

Hi all, with the recent announcements today around how a move to Level 3 will look under the current Covid19 restrictions, there is already a “ground swell” occurring as to whether or not kayak fishing will be permitted. Is a kayak deemed to be a boat ?.... Is a kayak a surf board ? Can I fish 300m ...

Re: 26/12 - Army Bay

It’s quite likely the wiring...salt water has a bad habit of corroding and killing the wires.... aside from checking the connections and fuse (if you have one) check the wiring all the way up as the corrosion can be well up inside the plastic casing. If you’re not sure, run a couple of dummy wires t...

Re: ASSASSIN COMPOSITES UTE BOX for Ocean Kayak for sale

I couldn't even find anything similar in the US where there are a heck of a lot of old town ad Ocean kayaks floating around. The were designed and made in NZ by a...

That's a long time to be sitting outside the breakers waiting to come back in... Remember this story..... waiting for the breakers on this occasion might have been more sensible ! https://www.kayakfishingnz.com/forum...

Used to spend a lot of time at Waipu and always just launched straight off the beach. Although in saying that, some times you might have o wait a day or two for the surf to die down..... other times it could be like a mill pond

Re: Hello

Welcome aboard...... over the years I’ve done a lot of yak fishing out of Waipu and into Bream Bay with some great fish caught....unfortunately I haven’t fished there for a couple of years not... Winter isn’t a great time but it does pick up from around Labour Weekend especially before the long line...
