Used to spend a lot of time at Waipu and always just launched straight off the beach. Although in saying that, some times you might have o wait a day or two for the surf to die down..... other times it could be like a mill pond

Welcome aboard...... over the years I’ve done a lot of yak fishing out of Waipu and into Bream Bay with some great fish caught....unfortunately I haven’t fished there for a couple of years not... Winter isn’t a great time but it does pick up from around Labour Weekend especially before the long line...

I always find the BCF stores are good place to look around... the FCO stores that we used to have here in NZ were modelled on them... they’re all over the place .

Where bouts are you launching from?

Fishing across the top / bottom of the tides is the best and safest....

There is quite a few guys that launch from around Tinopai but just about all anchor up and use bait simply due to,the fact of the currents which are strong and the murkiness of,the water
