Re: Viking Northland Kayak Classic - trip report

I think I ignored you at the pub. I remember standing near you and thinking I think I know that guy but I couldn't place you. Seeing your post has reminded me that I met you after a fish at Sullivans. Sorry about that chief. I'll say hello next time.

Re: Sullivans & Motuora 27/28

I agree Blair, that's an awesome destination for an overnighter or a weekend. Seeing the kiwi in the wild so close to Auckland is pretty mind blowing, and the paddle around Motuora, out to Moturekareka etc is very doable. NSKFC we should schedule this for a club trip.

Re: Best Braid to Fluoro Knot

I have been using Nathan's version (Big Angry Fish Nathan). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk7uWUa4z6Y It has the same end result, but he wraps the braid around the fluor...

Best Braid to Fluoro Knot

Putting this out there to hear what knots you use to join braid to fluoro. My favourite is the fg knot, and my quick go to knot is the surgeons knot. I had a bust off this weekend at Army Bay and after 6 attempts at tying on a new leader I gave up and swapped spools on my reel. I have to say I don't...

Re: DJ-400's Passing

Gee whiz, that's a big surprise. I had some good sessions with DJ400 at Papa Aroha. Top bloke. I did notice some months back that his yak was for sale, but I didn't think too much of it. He posted much less frequently recently. Condolences to his wife and family. He will be missed by those of us in ...
