Re: Reel Bearings

2 seal or nor 2 seal reply from Boca says seal!! Here's the thing, with stock stainless bearings in saltwater fishing reels I don't recommend you removing the shields. The stock bearings are greased bearings and if you remove the shields the grease will rapidly dissipate and you will end up with a d...

Re: Reel Bearings

For your info reply back from Boca Hello Richard, We can supply the bearings without shields or seals. If you remove them plan on running them dry because the oil will not stay in the bearing if you remove the shields/seals, which is ok but that's up to you on how you want to run the bearings in you...

Re: Reel Bearings

IMO is a good start
Just asking if they can supply without the seal fitted and if they are the same bearings in the Stradic 2500 C4i which I also have and would like a set of bearings for.
Being a tight yorkshire man I am leaning toward the #5 rather than #7

Re: Reel Bearings

Yes thinking about it a seal is designed usually to keep things in like the lube on the rollers. Not to keep water out. I know that from being in engineering for a while. Companies would hose down their industrial gearboxes and wonder why their was now rust inside the gearbox. Im banging on a bit bu...

Re: Reel Bearings

Re: Reel Bearings

Yeah thats a good plan, although nothing local, would have to go for a special trip. Thought there might be a list of compatible bearings out there somewhere as it would be great to get them posted out.

Reel Bearings

Hi, Anyone know what the bearing identifications/ numbers are for the Shimano stradic 2500 fi reel. I have pulled the reel apart, cleaned it and it still feels gritty. Must be the bearings I think. Also is their a supplier you have used that can send them direct. I am hoping that the shielded ball b...

Re: Review: Ocean Kayak Ultra 4.3 meets 'The Cow'

Re: Review: Ocean Kayak Ultra 4.3 meets 'The Cow'

i notice the rear handle is lateral and not longitudinal.. i HATE the rear handle on my ultra. its the most uncomfortable and un natural position for carrying. your wrist is twisted and it continuously slaps you in the thighs whilst "trying" to hold it away from your body to walk. bloody awful!! ca...

Re: Review: Ocean Kayak Ultra 4.3 meets 'The Cow'

N2Y Out of curiosity is there a particular reason you have already decided you do not want a rudder? I have heard like (some other things I will not mention here) once you try it you will never go back!! but I haven't tried a rudder yet and for the inshore fishing I do it just seems like an extra we...

Re: Review: Ocean Kayak Ultra 4.3 meets 'The Cow'

Great review. It is always refreshing to read something that is told straight, and taken so well by Ocean Kayak. As someone looking into new kayaks at the moment it would be great to have a post back on here as to which of the issues raised have been resolved? Especially for someone like me not nece...

Berklely Dropinhalf

I loved my Berkley Drop shot 6'6" and then I had to go ahead and keep tugging on that thing that was bending my rod in half. I sort of knew deep down what was going to happen but like a tormented soul I just couldn't let it go. I had to see what was on the end of the line. I-never did. Crack and it ...
