Hi all, just to flag with ya'll our annual kayak fishing comp will be held later in the year for 2019. The date set down is Saturday the 4th May as usual with the briefing the night before at the Whakatane Sports Fishing Club. Hi Jeff, Changing the comp to the winter months would be awesome. IMO the fishing is at its best out East over winter. Hey Jeff, No doubt for me that autumn/early winter is more settled weatherwise with better fishing. Doesnt mean that you wont hit an arse weekend like this one. Anywhere from april-august sounds good with back up weekend rather then harbour only if conditions dont suit. Also dont think there would ...

Looks like we are heading off Tawai st this sat, as oart of the Placemakers comp based at the Ohope Charter Club, members $20 non members $30. $1k for biggest snapper :y:

Thanks for the quick response. A couple of us from the Eastern Bay Kayak Fishing club (Whakatane) will likely get there and participate. I'll keep an eye on this site and hope to be there on the friday afternoon.
