VERY nice fish Leanne, top effort! That definitely deserves a prize and recognition, although I'm sure the buzz of getting such a great fish and PB will go a long way. Good girl!!

Re: Northland Softbait Challenge

Re: Ails let this 9.5kg approx Beauty go-where is a good question....somewhere near Auckland.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. It certainly does feel good to let those big ones go, especially with their breeding season coming up. The feeling stays with you a lot longer after letting it go than it does if you eat it……. unless it is a competition or we catch a 30pounder (dreams are ...

Gold Rush Ocean Kayak One

Great trip reports and photos guys. Here’s a brief summary of our weekend – we arrived at Papa Aroha campsite around 9.30pm on Friday, and after a chat with Kingfish Killer and Waikato Yakka we had a quick microwave meal then crashed out in the car. After a few hours broken sleep we got up aroun...

As many others have said, it is great to catch up with fellow yak fishers and meet some new ones. Good on you Aussies for making the trip over, looking forward t...

Re: Kayak gear.

Bodyline Kayaka longs get my vote – I got them to make me some 5mm ones in May last year and asked them to put in a ‘comfort zip’. Being a girl it was fun explaining where this should be located, but they did a great job. Bodyline are great to deal with and their product is top quality. I have...
