Re: Chinese reels - Opinions? Experiences?

I know its a large reel for a kayak but they are pretty indestructible and easy to service yourself. If shimano would release a smaller version I would pay good money for it. Re: Bad Back

Yep I have arthritis in my back. Ive found using a trailer helps with solo launching. I chuck my wheels on before pulling of the trailer.
I also use a foam roller on my back to stretch and aid circulation.

Re: Tips on Buying my first Kayak, what do you think of this one?

Looks good to me, Ive always gotten 2nd hand yaks and they have always been covered in scratches. As long as they are not deep with raised edges its all good. Cool cheers Im trying to get an idea of what I should be aiming for when I do big paddles. I've done 10/15 km round trips but am looking at increasing it to snag some puka.

Re: To cut the line or not? It has been answered for us

Ive pulled in snapper with hooks in their mouth and a kahawai with a hook in its throat and the trace and swivel hanging out its mouth. Both were in very healthy condition.

Cheers Mike.

Yep Ive had a few run ins with boaties trying to run or tip me over. Funny bit is they seem taken aback when I confront them on shore.
Good idea about the anchor rope I will make it a habit.
