Re: Wheeleez Kayak Trolley

Just add a further conversation. Now I have a lighter kayak ( the Kraken was a great fishing machine but heavy ) and I the C-Tug I had went with it. Is the smaller wheel Wheeleez cart ( $200ish) that much better or do I keep saving and go for the standard one at around $300? I have the Wheeleez wit...

Re: Two questions

Paddle leashed to the kayak for me. I unleash the paddle when I launch to minimize getting tangled if I fall out. PR knot to tie braid to leader. It takes time to master the technique. I find it also slides very nicely in the guides if you weave the ends of the knot with dental floss. Genie clip tie...

Re: End of 2017, Pikowai

Yeah plenty of kahawai around pukehina over the holidays. Love catching and eating that fish. Like the guys say watch that shore dump. Stow away your rods and reels if your uncertain about your re-entry ability. I turtled on re-entry from a small shore dump and wrecked all my reels and net. My k-lab...

Firth and Papa Aroha get-together

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JlquFdtVUY Going out fishing is very difficult for me to do these days and making fishing videos more so. A lazy paddle on Wednesday morning at the Firth resulted in 5 fat delicious Snapper. On the 5th of November an annual fishing event takes place in the Coromande...

Re: Kayak trolleys

Wheeleez for me too.

I think the best "trolley"of all is a 4WD. I get envious when I see a 4WD park right up to the edge of the water and unload their kayak.

Cold/Hot smoked snapper

It's very difficult to find a cold smoked snapper recipe on the net and I can understand why. Snapper is such a delicate textured fish that it can be overcooked. A workmate caught 2 good Snapper over the weekend and wanted me to smoke it for him. So here's my 2 cents into the procedure of smoking Sn...

+2

I won't be purchasing another NRS because I have the same issues. I've also found out that the jacket I currently been using the last 2 years is not sufficient for my weight.

Re: Have you ever break 24T from K-labs

I haven't break my 24T yet and I probably won't because it's sitting in the rod holder most of the time. I've converted to the very light K-Labs Micro jigging spin rod 2-4 kg. Combine that with a 2500 reel and 8lb braid it's a lot of curve bending fun! It had a jolly good rogering at the Rob Fort ge...

Re: Is this salt suitable for curing and brining?

What do guys think? I usually like buying in bulk to reduce costs in the long run. Is this suitable for curing meats and fish. Cheers :y: Schecter best to use 'plain sea salt'. Too many other things in that one . You can buy 25kilos of coarse sea salt for beggar all. This is what I use to make baco...
