Need a cheap rod for my baitcaster

Hi I snapped about 30cm off the tip of my Okuma X-Factor baitcaster rod. I need a replacement, something cheap and cheerful, like a box of beer or swap for a couple of bibbed lures and a zest curved slider I am not using? Anyone got anything gathering dust? I am very poor because I had to go to the ...

Re: Matapouri goes off...

Yum i haven't had a feed of scallops for at least 2 years. Might need to invest in a wetsuit and weight belt... don't fancy my chances towing a dredge from the prowler :)

Arkles bay 28/9/17

Launched at Arkles bay around 4.45pm, paddled out past the reef on the left to find some good sign in 10m over the sand. Zman new penny curly-tail did the damage on a 1/4oz jighead. 5 nice snaps and 2 johnnies inc a new PB johnny. Got busted off by a decent snapper, think it bit thru the 10lb flouro...

Nice work, was there a swell running? I fished out of Arkles last night and it was like a mirror.

What sort of $$$ are you after? I have no idea what jetskis are worth! That will probably be my next move though.

Re: Are we loosing the "brotherhood "??

I am all about the fishing, I bought a kayak because I was sick of only catching kahawai and small snapper off the rocks around auckland. If I could afford a decent boat I would buy one in a heartbeat. I do enjoy the buzz of catching big fish off the kayak and the fresh air and exercise. I still fin...

Re: Weather This Week

I launched at Jones Bay at around 1.50pm, paddled to Maori Rock into a fresh SE wind and a strengthening incoming tide. Speed was down to 2kmph at times as i got close to the rock. Made a few casts with a stickbait into the whitewater around the rock but gave up pretty quickly as I was moving backwa...

Re: Bad Back

Yeah my lower back flares up occasionally and pinches my sciatic nerve which can render me bedridden sometimes. Stretching every night and magnesium supplements seem to keep it at bay. It is important to keep good posture in the kayak and rotate your torso rather than using pure arm power when paddl...

SOLD I have killed yet another softbait reel (although I got 18 months out of this one) I have a C-tug trolley that I don't use much, I got it late last year and have only used it 4 or 5 times. $100 or swap for a decent softbait spin reel, 2500 to 4000 size, shimano or daiwa, prepared to pay up to $...
