I,m new to Kayak fishing to but have fished off the rock from coromandel to cape maria van demien and every rock in between and I would try kayak fishing off all my old pozzies you dont have to go out in the middle of the ocean stick close in thats where the biggies are.Good Luck
Most of the time they paint a smoked dye on red cod or freeze it which does it no good.not sure on your fish smoke it.glad you had a feed,going down to the wharf tonight try a get some blue moki.
Hi Andy, got out from moeraki wharf had a couple of cast and it blew and pissed down, so at least I got out and got the feel for it.at the moment light enough 5.15 to paddle.wind usually gets up about 7.keep in touch we might get out from oamaru even.
Got to my spot this morning only to see a nasty squall coming up the coast so I aborted my first attempt,left it for the more experienced yakkers,rather live to fish another day.stay safe out there.Hope things went well for the two Andy,s.
