Yeah sad about the ute box thing if I was still into kayak fishing i would of looked into it again...... might have all my gear for sale soon, might even be a ute box in there too.

Had a Viking 440...loved it, recently purchased a 4.7 prowler which I am happy with, only negative so far is the flex in the hull, it is no where near as rigid as the 440. Every wave you hit with the 4.7 makes it shudder through the hull....it pisses me off!! Can you spell out the sound it makes :)...

Fishing off a waka??? you could use a hose clamp to hold a arm off the outrigger to the transducer and a box on the back for the battery and
head unit.
There are better things out there if you just want speed/distance

I've been talking with Rob fort about this over the years and I would be call on him for gear and tips if I was you, he also has his own rigging systems to make it easy of the kayak like a tow rig with drop weight to use your kayak as a float boat. Easy surf beach north end under the cliffs you will of had worse. mostly sand, fish in close in the evening and there are some reefs out about 3km or past the 30m mark that hold kings, lots of boats from Bowentown heading north so keep your eyes open....
