Re: Inshore boat Fishing - seminar

Gah! I always miss this on Pete's Facebook page.

For some reason Facebook thinks my mum's cat picutres are more important than pete's fishing updates in my Facebook news feed.

Re: ASSASSIN COMPOSITES Kayak update.

Wouldn't you want the hinges on that hatch on the other side? That way you could access it while on the water if you needed to (acknowledging the risk of significant water entry). I don't really want you opening it on the water, you can use an inspection port. Its also stronger that way when the ro...

Re: Turangi for the weekend.

Launch at Tokaanu, stop off for a coffee at the lakeside café/restaurant at Waihi, then head up the mouths of the Tongariro. If you go slowly up the river mouths you will be able to spot the big brown trout that hang out there.

Re: 2 more deaths...

The message is, if in a group of inexperience paddlers, raft-up and run. You might not get where you want to but you are likely to hit land and not die. This is the key here, but unless you are training each group that you hire kayaks to then you are taking on board some risk. I'd hate to be in the...

Yep. That was me.

There were plenty of small cod out at the first point, but given the conditions I wasn't keen to head out further to find anything bigger.

Makara yesterday

So who was out at Makara yesterday? I ran into about three of you but didn't think to ask your names. It was my first trip in my new boat, and all I managed was one blue cod and a kahawai. The barracuda were out in force though - I landed one after having to cut off my rig to escape some rocks when ...

Cheers for the tips. I went out yesterday but there was so much spray coming in that I didn't bother taking the sounder out of its bag.

Cross posting topics?

Hi Mental, I was wondering if there was a way to cross post topics to multiple parts of the forums? I'd like to seeto TRs cross posted to both the TR section and the regional section that the trip relates to. That way if we are heading into a new part of the country, we could check out TRs that rela...
