Coming to the Auckland kayak classic?? Help needed

Hey lads.. I am after a small favour from a fellow Naki yakka.. I am a Naki lad but now living in the big smoke up here in the 09. I have sold my old kayak seat on trade to a fellow kayak fisherman from Taranaki but they are not coming to the comp. I am wondering if anyone is coming up to the comp t...

Re: Trailer

I also had a Colorado and it was bloody high to put the yak on and I didn't want to put salt all over it etc, hence the trailer. Much easier to leave the yak all set up too

Re: Trailer

Depends how much you want to spend? I got one made at Lunic trailers in grey Lynn for just under $3000. But that is with a few extras. You can make it as simple as you want and it will probably be cheaper than buying one and modifying it. Depends what your after. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...

My new toy - kayak trailer.

So I have been toying with the idea of a purpose built kayak trailer for some time now. A few things leaned me towards getting one was that I have a new truck and it's bloody high, and it's not ideal to put salt and sand all over it. I am bound to scratch it trying to lift my yak up there. So... I s...

I have no idea actually what weight my braid is to be honest. It probably is only 6kg ish. What ever is on there, it works and I catch fish so I don't care! Ha

Re: All rounder rod for soft baiting and the odd stray line session????

Yeah I think I have 10-15kg braid on mine. I use it for everything bud. Trolling lures, soft baitin, jigs and stray lining. The biggest pro would be the second drag set up. Ie, just flicking the lever to easily pull out line. I use this all the time. A very good all round reel. I also use either 20-...

Re: All rounder rod for soft baiting and the odd stray line session????

Totally agree with the shimano 4000oc. I have two of them. Perfect size for either stray lining or softbaiting. I swap them around all the time and the bait runner feature is great for kayaks as you can put the rod in the holder and flick the switch to pull out line easily when needed (ie tying knot...

Wow. Awesome fishing plus a cray. Some monster fish there well done. Some people wait years to have a day like that. Where were you roughly, North or south? I heard someone boated a 30lber around the coast a week or two ago. I can't wait to come home for a fish (living in the 09 now)
