Mothership Trip Great Barrier Island July 2017 1 spot available

So an opportunity to join what is a fishing holiday at a top location well known for its trophy fish (the photo i...

Re: WHATUWHIWHI KAYAK OPEN DAY

Some great comments made including valid points and appreciate those who have shown support to me and the Reel Screaming Kayaks Show. The key point here is however that when you name something using New Zealand or an abbreviation (NZ) in its name then a certain amount of responsibility comes with th...

Re: REEL SCREAMING KAYAKS - Episode 8

Thanks to everyone who has posted feedback on the show. Great vid as always Rob, always enjoy it and amazed how you've put it all together. How about a live baiting for kingfish video ? That'd be great to see your techniques. I second that. Keen to find out how to keep the livebait from getting the ...

Re: The Most Dolphin Encounters On A Kayak

Some awesome experiences shared and great to read. Never seen a dolphin around Auckland. I paddle a Reload. I think I'd shit myself if that many huge dolphins came in close like that. :worried: No need for concern when you do come across dolphins as they are very gentle unlike the other mammals who ...

So long as there is no animosity between the two groups collaboration can only be helpful to both sets of members surely. Just an events page would be good. Totally agree however agendas often get in the way. One of the things I love about this forum is there is no agendas as far as the moderators ...

Re: The Most Dolphin Encounters On A Kayak

Am I the only one enjoying such interactions with dolphins or has anyone else had similar experiences.

Keen to hear about them and if it has been when paddling or using a pedal or electric motor?

The Most Dolphin Encounters On A Kayak

Here's a video that I've been sitting on for a while and shows some New Zealand dolphin encounters from the Old Town Predator PDL kayak. Since using pedal powered kayaks the number of encounters with these marine mammals is amazing and something I've never been able to experience on this kind of lev...

Re: Slow jigging rod to pair with a Talica 8

Considering your plans I would not scrimp on price and having used many brands over the last few years the options I recommend are: Daiwa Bluebacker Jig does up to 180g its priced under $200 and great value But the best option by far is the Jigstar Slow Jerk in either 2oz or 3oz but has a higher pri...

Re: Two questions...

Smeg don't worry the Humminbird units have reverse polarity protection and also an internal fuse so the unit should be fine. Sounds like you require a new power cable and fairly easy to replace and cost effective to replacing the unit. Heres a link to the item you need: http://www.kayakadventures.co...
